Fife Lib Dems take action over concerns about GP service access

by Aude Boubaker-Calder on 1 October, 2021

A number of residents have spoken to local Lib Dem candidate Aude Boubaker-Calder about the difficulty of accessing in-person GP services. As a result, the local Liberal Democrat team have written to the Scottish Health Secretary to ask for an exit plan.

Aude has said,

“Naturally we all recognise that during the lockdown periods, restrictions were put in and I think most people can understand why most GP appointments were done remotely.

“However for a lot of illnesses, seeing a GP in person is essential and for many this has been difficult to access.

“Our local team have written to the Health Secretary and Lib Dem MSP Willie Rennie has also been in touch with NHS Fife.

“Hopefully more people will be able to see a GP in person in the coming period if needed.”
